THE FLOAT HOUSE INN
Whether you arrive by Air, Land or Sea, You’ll love the Journey to Bella Coola
Driving to Bella Coola
Williams Lake is a good stopping place to fuel up and gather any supplies. Roughly 4 hours down Route. 20 is Nimpo Lake. Located just outside Tweedsmuir Park, Nimpo Lake is another good stopping place to fill the tank, stand up and stretch before the last leg. Nimpo Lake is known for it’s rental cabins that dot one side of the lake.
The Hill’ (Hwy 20, Tweedsmuir Park)
About 2 hours outside of Bella Coola is a remarkable section of highway that’s locally referred to as ‘The Hill‘. It’s a well maintained dirt road that has steep and narrow sections.
During steep sections, it’s best to but your vehicle in first gear and just go slow. Some sections are single lane and it’s a good idea to take note of the many pull-offs in case you need to let another vehicle pass.
While exercising caution, we think you’ll find ‘The Hill’ an exciting and enjoyable part of your Bella Coola.
